Hello and welcome all Hounds Players and fans to the 2018 Season.
Pre-season has been solid for both the mens and womens and we are now starting to get to the pointy end with the Mens first trial this Saturday afternoon against Aspley with a 4:00pm kickoff at Purtell Park. Hope to see you there.
It has been a week of mixed finals results for the Hounds after the Women's side progressed with to the second week of finals but the Open’s lost their Preliminary Final to Banyo.
The ladies took on Flagstone at Carina Leagues club in the Elimination Final After taking an 18 - 8 halftime lead the Hounds ran away with a 28 - 20 win taking them into a Minor Semi Final against Mt Gravatt. Stand out performances across the board with Quinnie Warin talking the mug back at the club. Venue and time are still TBA at this stage.

No such luck with the Open’s going down a slick Banyo unit 34 - 12. The Demons go the jump on the Hounds in the first half score 4 tries to nil. Normanby came out firing in the second stanza scoring the next two tries but could not sustain the pressure as Banyo hit back taking them to a Grand Final against North Lakes.
FINAL SCORE: Normanby 12 (Tries: M Perkins, B Ryan. Goals: B Ryan 2/2) defeated by Banyo 34
Normanby’s Open North 2 side showed a dominant performance to dispatch the Samford Stags to Silly Sunday after winning the Minor Semi-Final 40-10 at Petrie’s Mathieson Oval on Saturday.
From the outset, the Hounds looked the sharpest they had all season, with the previous few weeks lack lustre performances well behind them. There were strong performances across the park with front rower Jordan Mathers a stand out.
Normanby will take on Banyo in this week's Preliminary Final to be played and Arana Hills at 3:00pm. The winner will take on North Lakes in the Grand Final.
FINAL SCORE Normanby 40 (Tries C.Stagg 2, J. Henderson, J.Caslick, B.Ryan, J.Mathers, R.McHugh, C.Chapman. Goals: B.Ryan 3, M.Webb) Defeated Samford 10

The Normanby RLFC club is seeking an experienced coach for our open Women’s program for the 2018 season and beyond. We have a young and enthusiastic squad and require a motivated coach to continue the development of the players. It is preferable the applicant has support staff to assist with the team (Manager, Trainers). A successful applicant will require:
- A senior level coaching qualification.
- Demonstrated experience coaching or working within women’s teams.
The clubs training base is at Purtell Park, Bardon. We would like to appoint a coach prior to the completion of this year’s season. Interested persons should email the club at info@houndsrlfc.com.
Congratulations to Elliot Parkinson on reaching 100 Games for the Hounds

The Normanby Rugby League Football Club is announcing that at the conclusion of the current 2017 season and by mutual decision, Head Coach Lee Addison will be leaving the club.
The Normanby club has decided not to re-enter the BRL competition in 2018. Addison’s original 3 year contract was agreed on the basis that the club would return to the BRL in 2018.
Lee Addison said “Normanby RLFC is a fantastic club full of great people, but the agreement I had with them was that I was to be coaching them in the BRL in 2018. This was agreed at the start with a view to revisiting when the decision on the 2018 season was discussed. I was a part of those discussions and agree that the club is taking the right direction. It must honour the wishes of its members and it’s 70 year traditions, which, quite frankly, are more important than my own coaching aspirations at this time.”
Club president Mitchel Chambers said “As a level 3 rugby league coach we feel it is in Lee’s best interest he pursue a higher level coaching position, something Normanby RLFC are not currently in a position to offer as we are not re-entering the BRL next year. We thank Lee for his effort this season and wish him the best of luck in his future coaching endeavours. He will also continue his involvement as a club member with both our seniors and juniors, and is always welcome at our club.”
